    Red yeast rice is obtained by fermenting rice with the yeast Monascus purpureus.
    Its primary active ingredient is monacolin K, a compound chemically identical to the cholesterol-lowering drug lovastatin (1).

    2 capsules daily. Swallow with water, do not chew.

      When I had my yearly cholesterol blood test in February 2024 my cholesterol level was 6.8. The nurse was keen to put me on Statins. I didn't want to go down this route and done my research and found Red Yeast Rice at Cixast. I have now had another blood test 6 months later and my cholesterol level is now down to 4.6 😀 I am absolutely amazed at how well these tablets work and can highly recommend them. The company Cixast, is fantastic and delivery is always prompt. Customer service is excellent. I also use their Inulin Prebiotic Fibre. 5 stars from me.

      Started taking these 3 months ago, after a private blood test revealed high levels of LDL cholesterol and ApoB proteins. I have polycystic ovary syndrome so this means a genetic disposition to high cholesterol.
      The initial blood test showed total cholesterol 7.2mmol/L and ApoB 1.25g/L.
      Today - 3 months later - I got the results of a new blood test.
      Now, total cholesterol is 5.7mmol/L and ApoB is 0.99g/L.
      LDL cholesterol is also down - from 4.8mmol/L to 3.3.
      Am very pleased.

      Jjust wanted to pop this in writing. I've struggled with raised cholesterol since I was in my 20's ( now 60). At one point it was 7.4. I got it down to 5.2 last year but was concerned today as I had my yearly check. To my amazement it was down to 4.08!       Last year my Gp wanted to start me on statins to lower my cholesterol. I have a family history that validated his concerns. I asked for time to lower it naturally.         Every Cixast packet is certified Plastic Neutral+ which means we're offsetting more plastic than we use, by preventing plastic waste from entering our seas.
        We would switch to a biodegradable pouch tomorrow if we could, however for the time being they are not recyclable. Currently biodegradable materials are weaker and have a much shorter shelf-life.
        These materials start to break down when they come into contact with moisture, making them unsuitable to store and protect organic food powders.
